Our urban retreat is perfect for a weekend away, girls weekend or wedding preparation location.

It is a high spec house boasting second to none views from New Brighton beach, to Christchurch CBD all the way to the Kaikōura mountains.

3 Bedrooms, 2 and a half bathrooms, an awesome BBQ, swimspa and hot tub only add to your relaxing time away from the grind.

It also has an awesome playground for the kids and a kennel for your dog should you wish to bring it on holiday with you. (outside dogs only)

Access: Is easy via local roads and a long driveway.

This house is fully self sustaining, so please bring your own supplies (food and drink) for your stay time. We know you’ll enjoy your stay!

Mangāmāunu – Tūī

Our Tūī hut boasts the view of Te Moana-nui-a Kiwa (The Pacific Ocean) from your east facing french doors and the Seaward Kaikōura Ranges ascending outside your west facing french doors, Te Maunga o Manakau (Mount Manakau) stands tallest, this hut offers action and activity or relaxation and simplicity, the choice is yours.

Access: Feel free to drive your vehicle inside the main gate, park your vehicle,  then it’s an easy 20m walk to the hut.

This hut is fully self sustaining, so please bring your own supplies (food and drink) for your stay time. We hope you enjoy the views from your kitchen!

Investment:

$350/night (min. 2 night stay)

Ō-Tama-Kura (Goose Bay) – Te Kaha o Rua

The hut – Te Kaha o Rua sits nicely into a small bush clearing adjacent to the track in the middle of the entire property. You will hear nothing but bird song, wild goat calls and stag roaring depending on the time of the year. Feel free to roam the tracks and enjoy the many views or simply chill out and relax in your secluded bush setting.

Access: All of our Ō-Tama-Kura (Goose Bay) huts have three (3) access options:

1. We can meet you at the Goose Bay village, leave your vehicle at the main gate, pack your belongings into our 4WD vehicle – helmets must be worn, and carry you into your chosen hut.

2. We can meet you at the Goose Bay village, leave your vehicle at the main gate, pack your belongings into our 4WD vehicle and we will carry them in for you while you are hiking into your chosen hut. The distance to Te Kaha o Rua is approximately 8km so you will need a certain level of fitness, water and some food.

3. We can meet you at the Kaikōura airport, introduce you to the team at South Pacific Helicopters who know where our huts are located and they can fly you in and out of your chosen hut. It really is a spectacular trip and well worth the small investment of just $800 (or $400 one way).

Ō-Tama-Kura (Goose Bay) – Manawa Kurī

The hut – Manawa Kurī tucks nicley into a small clearing that overlooks Te Moana-nui-a-kiwa (The Great Pacific Ocean). You are surrounded with wilderness, bird song, wild animals and tranquility. The tracks are right at your front deck here, so enjoy them or climb to the top of the hills and try and spot whales blowing or dolphins jumping with your binos.

Access: All of our Ō-Tama-Kura (Goose Bay) huts have three (3) access options:

1. We can meet you at the Goose Bay village, leave your vehicle at the main gate, pack your belongings into our 4WD vehicle – helmets must be worn, and carry you into your chosen hut.

2. We can meet you at the Goose Bay village, leave your vehicle at the main gate, pack your belongings into our 4WD vehicle and we will carry them in for you while you are hiking into your chosen hut. The distance to Manawa Kurī is approximately 6km so you will need a certain level of fitness, water and some food.

Ō-Tama-Kura (Goose Bay) – Waoku a Tāne

Waoku a Tāne hut sits on one of the highest peaks of the property, it boasts stunning views and feels as if you could be the last inhabitants on earth. You will sit overlooking native forests and can only but listen to the call of the Rūrū (Morepork) at night. The high tracks are close, enjoy them should you wish, or simply enjoy being alone in nature. 

Access: All of our Ō-Tama-Kura (Goose Bay) huts have three (3) access options:

1. We can meet you at the Goose Bay village, leave your vehicle at the main gate, pack your belongings into our 4WD vehicle – helmets must be worn, and carry you into your chosen hut.

2. We can meet you at the Goose Bay village, leave your vehicle at the main gate, pack your belongings into our 4WD vehicle and we will carry them in for you while you are hiking into your chosen hut. The distance to Waoku a Tāne is approximately 11km so you will need a certain level of fitness, water and some food.

3. It must be said that the most exciting way to access Waoku a Tāne is via chopper due to its remote location. We can meet you at the Kaikōura airport, introduce you to the team at South Pacific Helicopters who know where our huts are located and they can fly you in and out of your chosen hut. It really is a spectacular trip and well worth the small investment of just $800 (or $400 one way).
